Defence
Marzion IX is wealthy enough to warrant self-defensive measures, and industrious enough to manufacture them for itself. The array of vessels in its orbit could swiftly be equipped with weapons to repel any attempt at invasion, and the lack of conventional planetside terrain would make it difficult for attackers to get a foothold. Tools designed for mining – like core-drilling lasers – would make for potent arms if turned on a starship’s hull.
Most importantly, the Marzionite principles of working together and ensuring the safety of the crew extend to their approach to combat; they are methodical and reasonable in their violence, whether they are protecting cargo or carefully placing high yield ordinance. Excessive force is abhorred – even more so than is typical under Alliance use-of-force protocols – as a waste of energy.
