Effect Cards

Estimated reading: 2 minutes

You might find laminated cards out in the environment, or be handed one by a referee. Here are the different types you may encounter.

Self Ref Cards

Self Ref Cards are found in the environment, giving extra descriptions of the surrounding area and briefing you on any potential game effects. Please read the Self Ref card before interacting with anything nearby. Just reading the Self Ref card will not trigger an effect.

Self Ref Cards may vary in appearance, but will always have “SELF REF CARD” at the top.

Health Cards

You may be handed an effect card detailing an injury you’ve just received. You must keep this card on you and follow the roleplay prompts until it is resolved. Please stick to the timings as accurately as possible.

We are currently adjusting Health Cards to work with the new Surgery mechanic, but they will still look close to this example.

Fault Cards

You may be handed an effect card detailing damage to your Equipment. You must keep this card with the item and follow the roleplay prompts until it is resolved.

We are currently adjusting Fault Cards to work with the new Maintenance mechanic, but they will still look close to this example.

Samples

You may find a Sample to investigate when out on a mission. The card will list a task to complete to discover more information about the item. These cards are intended to be investigated the event they are discovered, and often expire between events.
