Terms and Conditions
0.1 Your ( “You” / “Your” ) attendance at one of our events ( “the Event” ) by Fakelore Games ( “the Event Organiser” / “Our” / “We” ) is subject to the following Terms and Conditions ( “T&Cs” ).
Acknowledgement of Risks
1.1 LARP is a physical activity involving simulated combat and physical contact, and takes place on a venue with uneven ground that may be slippery and in areas of low lighting. By booking to attend the Event you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks of this activity and agree to do whatever possible to ensure the safety of yourself and other participants.
1.2 In participating at the Event you confirm that you will only take part in the Event to the extent that you feel you are fit and capable of doing so.
Bookings and Transfers
2.1 Bookings are entirely at the discretion of the Event Organiser. If your booking is refused it will be cancelled and you will receive a prompt refund of any monies paid, and you will not be allowed admittance to the game.
2.2 Your booking must be paid for in full before entering the game unless agreed otherwise in writing with the Event Organiser.
2.3 If the Event is accepting bookings on the gate this may end at any time for any reason at the discretion of the Event Organiser, which will include if the venue reaches its capacity. The ability to pay on the gate to participate in the event is not guaranteed.
2.4 Bookings are only valid for the person named in the original booking and cannot be transferred to another participant without our express written consent. If you wish to transfer a ticket, you must contact us with the name of the intended new ticket holder. We reserve the right to disallow a ticket transfer without stating the reason. A small administrative charge of £10 may apply at the discretion of the Event Organiser for any transfer.
Cancellations
3.1 We may cancel the event at our discretion at any point. If this does become required we will give you as much notice as we can and a full refund of any monies paid will be made as soon as possible.
3.2 You may cancel your booking by informing the Event Organiser in writing to contact@fakeloregames.com subject to the following terms.
- 3.2.1 If your cancellation request is received within 14 days of placing your booking you will receive a full refund unless this is within 30 days of the start of the event, in which case you waive your right to any cooling off period.
- 3.2.2 If your cancellation request is received after 14 days of placing your booking no refund will be given.
- 3.2.3 These timings apply to the original purchase date of the ticket, and not from the date a ticket is transferred to another participant (if applicable).
Children
4.1 We do not allow individuals under the age of 18 at our events.
Your Obligations
5.1 You acknowledge that you are responsible for your own health and wellbeing, including the administration of any medication you are required to take.
5.2 In booking to attend the Event you agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the game, as well as any policies of the Event Organiser. This includes, but is not limited to, the Code of Conduct, the Sales, Refunds and Returns Policy, and Prop Weapon Guidelines, all of which are available on our website or by emailing us as contact@fakeloregames.com
5.4 You also agree to abide by the spirit of the rules, regulations and policies.
5.5 For any specific event there may be additional rules, regulations and policies in place. You also agree to abide by these.
Our Powers
6.1 The Event Organiser may, if we feel a participant is not abiding by the rules or policies of the game, or have reason to believe that a participant’s presence is no longer good for the game or any other participant(s), remove a participant from the game and/or ask them to leave the site immediately.
6.2 The Event Organiser’s decision on such a matter is final in all circumstances and no reasoning need be given.
6.3 If a participant is removed by the Event Organiser in this way no refund will be given.
Limitation of Liability
7.1 The Event Organiser accepts no liability for any costs incurred with regards to an Event they have cancelled. Any losses will be limited to the cost of any ticket purchased.
7.2 The Event Organiser accepts no liability for the loss or damage to personal property in any circumstances, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
7.3 The Event Organiser accepts no liability for any other losses or injuries, however arising, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
7.4 Any damages shall, to the maximum extent permitted by law, be limited to the value of:
- Any insurance payout to cover such a loss; or
- The price paid to attend the Event.
Whichever is higher.
Your personal data
8.1 We are required to collect, store and process personal data about you for the purposes of running the event. Please see our Privacy Policy for how your data will be stored and used. In booking to attend this Event you consent to our collection, storage and processing of your data for this purpose.
Miscellaneous
9.1 If a court finds part of these terms illegal, the rest will continue in force. Each of the paragraphs (or sub-paragraphs) of these terms operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them are unlawful, the remaining paragraphs (or sub-paragraphs) will remain in full force and effect.
9.2 The headings used in these T&Cs are for convenience and do not form part of the terms.
9.3 Any delay in our enforcement of these terms shall not operate as a waiver for future enforcement.
9.4 These T&Cs, and the associated rules, regulations and policies, form the entire agreement between the parties.
9.5 These T&Cs shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.
