Aliens
Under Review
This content is currently under review, and is likely to be added to or modified Winter 2025/2026.
Each of the Playable Aliens has a guide to help design your own costume, but there are some general points to keep in mind.
This isn’t a film
You don’t have a personal makeup artist to do touch ups in between scenes. You’ll be wearing your costume from 10am until midnight (or when you retire for the night) and a lot of film and theatre guidance is not made with this in mind.
You will sweat
Extensive facepaint is not recommended for anyone playing a high-combat character, or who is prone to sweating heavily. Work with your body, not against it.
Facepaint is a big commitment
If you plan to paint your whole face a different colour, you should either paint or cover all visible skin. This is a large commitment. Consider having mottled skin or patterns that work with your natural skin tone and make life easier.
Appearances are constant
Your character should be identifiable across multiple events. Updating their look and replacing masks or prosthetics is a regular part of LARP, but try to keep changes minimal or have a reason for the change.
Aliens must be obvious
There are multiple ways to interpret our alien briefs, and the last thing we want is for everyone to look the same. But it must still be possible to identify what alien you are playing from your features and not a process of elimination.
Ask us about new features
If you have an idea about a makeup element that isn’t part of the brief, contact us about it. We are open to expanding the briefs slightly and are happy to add features that fit with the concept.
Inspiration from media
You may use cosplay style prosthetics and masks inspired by media where they work with one of our briefs.
There will be more aliens
We will be gradually introducing more aliens as the game continues, which will make sticking to the player briefs increasingly important.
