Searching for hidden objects

A physically hidden item will be revealed by a Search, unless obscured by a container. Anyone can Search, spending at least 5 seconds roleplaying looking in an area. When searching another character, you must specify which garment you are inspecting. Always ask before physically touching someone, and if in doubt, roleplay above the area.

Hiding

If you hear Detect Stealth, you do not need to announce yourself, even if you are hiding.

If Hidden Physically

Detection relies on being able to physically see its target. Hiding well will reward you and give an advantage over using the Stealth mechanic; doing both will make you impossible to find.

If Hidden using Stealth

Each item that grants Stealth will have different restrictions on its use. As soon as you enter this state by raising one finger, you are hidden from sight. If you break the restrictions of the item, you must lower your finger and leave the Stealth state.

If someone reacts to your presence in Stealth, you may reply saying “Stealth” to confirm to them you’re under this effect. If they didn’t realise this before, they must immediately disengage. If they continue reacting, presume they’ve used a detection item, even if you didn’t hear.
