Healing
Under Review
This content is currently under review, and is likely to be added to or modified Winter 2025/2026.
At its core, BioMed is about healthcare and the effects of substances on the body. As with all mechanics, you will need items and equipment in order to interact with your environment and research it.
Restoring Hit Points
Anyone may use HP restoring items on themself or other people, unless they reach 0 B-HP. At that point, they’ll need to be Stabilised by another character first.
Common healing and stabilising items include Medical Patches (stickers), Serums, and Healing Guns.
Medicine
Medicine is required to resolve the majority of medical conditions. From restoring Hit Points to recovering from the effects of Health Cards, medicine will either list a specific condition or a symptom that it heals.
Health Cards
Health cards are effect lammies, some of which can be torn open, which describe specific injuries or medical conditions for you to roleplay. They are most commonly handed out by referees.
You may only read how to resolve a Health card if you have an item that allows you to.
Resolving Health Cards
Health cards require roleplay, medicine, or both to be resolved.
If you don’t have an item that lets you read the card, you can still try to fix the problem. Do the roleplay with a witness, and have the patient turn the card over at the end. If you’ve managed to predict everything correctly, congratulations, it’s resolved!
If not, it’s down to you and the patient to decide what the consequence is, unless the card gives further instructions. You will usually make the injury worse, but can try again so long as you haven’t read the lammie yourself.
