Changes from Event 1
We’re making a few changes from Event 1 to ensure the event is sustainable going forwards.
The Player cap is increasing from 70 to 75.
The Crew cap is increasing to 35 (plus referees).
Standard tickets are staying at £95. We want to keep them under £100 for as long as we can, made possible by this year’s new venue. So long as venues stay roughly the same cost, we’ll be keeping this price for 2027 as well.
Early booking discounts are no longer being used. We trialled them at Event 1 to help reach our minimum ticket sales to be able to run the event, but it simply won’t be sustainable for us to offer going forwards. We’re a medium game, not a large fest, so offers like this really dig into what we can provide as a game.
Split payments are staying! This was the most popular payment option for Event 1. Secure your ticket with a 50% non-refundable deposit, and pay the remaining 50% one month later. We’re using this as our new “early booking” offer available for anyone who books before the 31st of May.
Numbers & Event Schedule
The game was initially pitched for 60-100 players, with Event 1 running at a 70 player cap in the end. We’re hoping to gradually increase our player cap as time goes on, but want to remain at around the 75 mark for a couple of events while we settle into running this new game system and refine our rules and methods for running encounters for this size playerbase.
We’re running one mainline event in 2026, and are looking to raise this to 2 events for 2027. This is of course reliant on finding more venues with availability, so if you have suggestions, do let us know!
Discounts
We are reworking how we offer discounts.
Our first event had compulsory monstering slots which we’ve removed for event 2 onwards. But we still have a need for extra crew at times. So starting this event, if you opt-in to a 2-4 hour crewing slot, you’ll receive £32 off your player ticket, essentially getting that day for free. In line with general crew tickets, these Volunteer Slots will be application only and are limited to 15 initially.
Anyone may apply, but if you’d be eligible for a concession at other games, you’ll get priority with these tickets.
Slot options will include:
- Helping at the A-COM desk (as your character)
- Running props between encounter locations and to A-COM
- Dart sweeps
- Boosting combat crew numbers
As part of this scheme, we are also offering this discount for a number of on-call First Aiders to support the team from within the playerbase.
Applications for Volunteer Slots will open on Thursday 2nd April.
Crew Applications
We’re streamlining general crew bookings – we’re skipping the tickets phase, so if you’d like to volunteer for the next event, simply fill out the form above! This form is for everyone – general crew, NPCs, photographers, traders – basically everyone except players.
Crewing is free and catered by The Ratt Shakk.
You’ll also get an invite to our crew Discord server and/or facebook group to receive crew briefings and get roles cast before the event.
Budgeting
Here is a breakdown of our budgeting for Event 1 and Event 2, so you can see where your ticket money is going!
Our venue for Event 1 was our single largest expense and the only one we could secure a booking at to make sure we could run. Going forward, we’re getting our bookings in much earlier in the year to make sure we have more of a choice of venues with woodland and good facilities. There are many venues we’d love to use that don’t currently meet our minimum facility requirement, which is the main thing limiting our options.
